Braid & Line
On this page we feature SureCatch Braid & Tufline XP Braid; also SureCatch Shock Leader, SureCatch Fluorocarbon line & SureBite Monofilament line.
TraceAce SureCatch Braid is woven from 100% Dyneema, Dyed dark green to blend into its underwater environment, soft supple, but with high wear and abrasion qualities, totally no stretch and has a fantastic low dimension to line strength percentage.
90% of all braids come from the same few factories in Holland where Dyneema was first invented. They are then shipped around the world and sold under different brand names. Some have a plastic coating put on them to enhance the resale value, but this does nothing to improve the line and only wears off after a few fishing sessions. Others are dyed bright colours - never use these high viz lines for Bassing. TraceAce Surecatch braid offers true value for money with fantastic quality and is available from 100m - 1000m on linked 100m spools, so why pay more for less?
100m/110yds of 16lbs (7.27kg) 0.15mm Braid
This is the line I use for all my shore lure fishing. Low stretch gives excellent movement on plugs and lures, low viz colour to blend in, excellent casting qualities, and an instant hook up rate - again due to the low stretch.
TOP TIP 1: Always use a 6 to 8 ft length of fluorocarbon between your braid and your lure.
100m/110yds of 30lbs (13.64kg) 0.23mm Braid
This is the line I use for all my boat fishing. Low stretch gives excellent bite detection and feeling when I'm working lures close to reefs and wrecks. It has low viz colour to blend in with the background, excellent abrasion qualities, and an instant hook up rate - again due to the low stretch.
TOP TIP 2: Always use a pair of quality braid scissors when cutting your braid
Tufline XP braid is an advanced multifilament premium quality fishing braid that is manufactured by Western Filaments in the USA. Produced under high tension causing more compaction of the fibres during the finishing process, Tufline has one of the smallest diameter ratios to pound breaking strains on the market today. Tufline XP OFFERS ULTRA-SMALL DIAMETERS while retaining maximum strength and abrasion resistance, and is totally UV resistant. Tufline XP braid is the choice of more top professional fishermen and guides across the USA, than any other premium fishing braid, and is the top choice of braid chosen by anglers targeting world line class records due to its high abrasion resistance and its high knot strength performance. Western Filaments have been manufacturing fishing lines for over 60 years and are recognised as leaders in the world of high performance fishing line.
TraceAce Tackle are the sole importers of this high performance braid, and due to the strong pound against the dollar we are happy to pass on the savings direct to you, so you can get an unbelievable fishing line at an unbelievable price. (well, all the time the pound stays strong!!)
Example Knots to tie with Braid:
SureCatch Softmax Shock Leader
A premium brand super soft 60lb shock-leader at the most unbelievable price ever. This SoftMax Shock-leader is manufactured in Japan. This leader is top quality, soft and supple with a high abrasion resistance. Fantastic knotting qualities coupled with a high percentage of resin impregnation as found in fluorocarbon lines make this line almost invisible underwater.
SureCatch Fluorocarbon
Fluorocarbon line is unlike normal monofilament fishing lines. Fluorocarbon is designed to let sunlight pass directly through it. Normal monofilament bends the rays of light as they pass through, causing it to become visible underwater. Bass have very keen eyesight, and are very easily spooked...fluorocarbon is virtually invisible underwater. Trace lines should always be made up with a length of fluorocarbon. Whether you’re plugging or spinning, you should always use a 6' to 8' length of fluorocarbon to your lure.
TraceAce Tackle's "SureCatch" fluorocarbon is the finest fluorocarbon available and is the only Fluorocarbon I use for my Bassing.
Features:
Made of 100% pure Fluorocarbon with low stretch qualities.
Increased Knott strength with special resin additives.
Enhanced wear and abrasion qualities.
Natural colour, which is essential for all trace lines.
50m spool of 14lbs, (6.36kg) 0.32mm Fluorocarbon
Ideal for shore fishing when plugging, spinning and float fishing.
50m spool of 20lbs, (9.09kg) 0.37mm Fluorocarbon:
Ideal for boat fishing and when using heavier lures (over 30g) from the shore.
SureBite tournament grade monofilament line
As with all things concerned with TraceAce tackle we only source, recommend and personally use products that are of exceptional quality, but also offer true value for money. SureBite tournament grade monofilament is no exception.
This superb quality line, manufactured in Japan, is the only monofilament I will load onto my reels as it offers features that other monofilaments lack. SureBite tournament grade monofilament is the highest grade of mono available, and can only be classed as Tournament grade in Japan if it passes stringent quality control and laid down specification criteria.
SureBite is 100% UV coated making it ultra-long lasting, as it is not affected or damaged by sunlight, and will out last normal monofilament by up to three times. SureBite is also mixed with resins and polymers that are used in the manufacture of Fluorocarbon fishing line, which gives SureBite one of the lowest refraction ratios compared to normal monos, (i.e. it doesn't bend sunlight as it passes through it) making it much less visible underwater.
SureBite monofilament is also extremely limp, so it doesn't spring off the spool, but is also very supple, and has low stretch characteristics giving much better bite detection, and lure presentation . Enhanced knot strength performance, high abrasion resistance and a small diameter to line strength, make this one of the most superior monofilaments we have ever come across.
